Description
Thumbs Up Coder Kit for Leica M Lenses - NB: Discontinued Product -For Information Only
An innovative design solution provides Leica M8 and M9 series users with a simple method for temporarily adding Leica's lens code to any M mount lens, allowing the Leica M8, M8.2, M8U or M9 to identify the lens type.
There are two versions of Coder Kit now available. Our Coder Kit for Leica lenses has been updated and the NEW version L 3.0 is now shhipping.
Leica, Cosina-Voigtlander, Zeiss, and other M mount lenses can be encoded with the M-Coder clip-on marking template, using the supplied marker pen. Choosing the lens code to use for a particular Leica lens is a simple task using the D-Coder, codes for other lenses can be found on the internet. With our Coder Kit L 3.0 you can also select the Leica Lens Product Number from the D-Coder data wheel. The Lens Product Number will allow you to input this data into the M9 using the built in M9 software.
Also new on the Coder Kit L 3.0 are the M8 and M9 framing lines that will appear with each lens when mounted on the camera, as well as the Degrees Field of View for either the M8 or M9 series cameras, for Leica, Voightlander and Zeiss lenses.
This encoding is temporary, and will not damage or permanently modify your lens in any way. On Voigtlander and Zeiss lenses, the temporary coding marks will remain for an extended period of time because of the slighlty recessed area on which the 6 bit marks are placed.
The entire encoding system is stored in a convenient case, and available from us as the Coder Kit L 3.0 or Coder Kit CV/Z 1.0. Two SD cards are shown below, but they only represent the storage space for SD cards. No SD cards are provided in the Coder Kit
